Barbi Leifert sold her first painting at the age of 9. She has been a dancer and artist all of her life, selling out in galleries on the West Coast and creating private commissions for clients in the Seattle area. Like any artist she continues to learn and practice her art on a daily basis and is currently a member of the KOH Atelier at Gage Academy in Seattle.
“Coming back home to New York City, the dance capital of the world gave me so much inspiration,” says Leifert. “Having been a former dancer myself and a dance teacher and author, I am inspired by how all the wonderful dancers and companies have evolved in the 20 years since I moved to Seattle. I was moved to paint the athleticism and energy of these young dancers and to create an entire series called ‘Dancer’s Palette.’ ”
