Abstract Landscape 103 with copper

Mary Johnston: “Growing up on Lake Superior gave me endless images from which to create my art. This piece is a combination of the far horizon, beautiful skies, the ancient rocks that line the North Shore of Lake Superior along with the copper which is is added as the representational element of all the minerals & ores that are mined from the area. I paint from past memories and feelings of place, giving the viewer a sense of peace and serenity even with the bright color combinations I use to create my works.”
