“The name of this series is borrowed from May Sarton, a poet and author whose writings on solitude and her deep connection to the natural world spoke deeply to me many years ago when I was living in the country, gardening, and reading her books. By shooting this flower ‘arrangement’ though glass and tissue paper and zooming in with a close crop, the flowers become less identifiable and more universal as organic forms, meant to evoke dreams, emotions and memories of our own deep connections to the natural world.” –Gayle Saunders
