With eye-catching galleries seemingly around every corner, Aspen is an art-lover’s paradise. But ArtWeek 2024 just set the bar even higher! With the Aspen Art Museum in the middle of town—sandwiched between two major art fairs on either side—there was certainly no shortage of things to do and see during this year’s event. And what better setting to appreciate fine art from all over the world than in this picturesque mountain town that’s absolutely bursting with old-world charm?

Intersect Aspen

This international art fair brought in collectors from all over with its highly curated selection of 31 galleries, hosted in the Aspen Ice Garden during the city’s peak art season. There were ongoing opportunities to meet artists and attend programs about the intersection of art and design, the environment, and social consciousness. A stunning selection of art and an impressive itinerary of thought-provoking programming make this fair something to look forward to every year.

Aspen Art Fair

The highly anticipated inaugural year of the Aspen Art Fair, hosted at the historic Hotel Jerome, truly lived up to the hype! The hotel’s backdrop created many unique ways to view art that a traditional gallery setting couldn’t necessarily accommodate. A block of rooms served as spaces for gallerists to display art in the same way that people might view it in their homes, lending to the intimate feel of the event despite its 3,000+ attendees.

Artists-in-residence set up their studios, chatted, painted, and sold art throughout the hotel, while the ballroom served as a more conventional showroom for selected galleries. It’s rare for an art fair to feel luxurious and approachable at the same time, but the Aspen Art Fair nailed it. A very auspicious beginning!

Aspen Art Museum

This year’s ArtWeek aligned with Aspen Art Museum’s 45th anniversary celebration, and boy, does that museum know how to throw a party! From rooftop piano solos to artist-led hikes to DJ sets, there was no shortage of exciting things to do all week long. It all came to a head with the ArtCrush Summer Gala, where the museum hosted drinks, dinner, music, dancing, and a live auction to support the arts in Aspen. It was such a fun and impactful way to cap off the week!
