Start Your Engines: Automotive Artist James Caldwell Goes Old-School at the Concours d’Elegance
This year’s Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance, one of the world’s most prestigious collector car shows, got a little artsy this year courtesy of automotive artist James Caldwell. The official artist for the 62nd annual Concours d’Elegance, which took place on Sunday, August 19th, Caldwell commemorated last year’s event with his acrylic-on-canvas “Gullwing At Tehama.” Explains the artist, “This beautiful Mercedes Gullwing was brought to the Pebble Beach [Concours] in 2011 by Mr. and Mrs. Shacklett. I first saw it here on the Tour d’Elegance’s first stop, [the] Tehama golf community.”
